Ibrahim and Omara Donkey Father and Daughter Bethlehem, West Bank |
Ibrahim and his daughter Omara are the direct descendants of a donkey who arrived in Bethlehem on December 24, 4 B.C. They still live in the stable their ancestors lived in, and still eat hay out of the manger. Ibrahim is the oldest competitor in the Race and hopes he doesn’t get lost while looking for the Pet Stop. Omara, known for wearing brightly-colored blankets, is looking forward to seeing the rest of the world. Both are rooting for John Kerry to win the American presidential race in the fall. |
